Have a wonderful holiday break!

Laguna Eagle Eye

December 21, 2007

Dear Parents,

People ask, “Didn’t I already give the PTO a contribution this year?” The answer is probably yes but tax credit is different from your PTO contribution. Your PTO donation is tax deductible and you claim it under charitable contributions on your tax form. The Kids Credit is a tax credit and you claim it at the end as a direct credit back to you. You contribute to Laguna and then you get it back from Uncle Sam. Clever and smart! If you have not contributed yet please consider doing so by the end of the calendar year. See the information on the right…

I wish you a happy new year and a safe winter break!

Sincerely,

Dr. Root

Kids Credit

Do you want to fund the pockets of IRS or Laguna school?

Tax credit continues through December 31st. You can go online to complete your contribution on our school website www.susd.org/laguna or the district website www.susd.org . You can also mail the check to Laguna or write the check by December 31st and drop it off at school January 7th.

Tax credit pays for all the enrichment classes and programs we run at Laguna so we do not have to charge families and everyone can participate.

Laguna’s National Geographic Bee

Words WONDERFUL Words!

Students are encouraged to swing by the computer lab to join the Word Challenge Club sponsored by Mrs. Rea. It is a fun activity that anyone can do. The following students have been participating in the Word Challenge club for the last eight weeks: Tyler Stierman, Jay Purtzer, Bailey Billings, Rachel Jefferies, Sammy Rea, Tanner Groff, Annie Hanson, Leah Wood, Delaney Parker, Sasha Janik, Chris Gomez, Katie Shannahan, Ben Schultz, Francesca Urwin, Clarisa Rodriquez, Anna Peggie, Caity Sites, Bruce Morris, and Emilia Nallen.

Laguna’s Shining Stars

If your child participates in community service projects please have them complete the service form, which can be found in the office or the classroom. We love to acknowledge the special things children do in our community!

Doug Shapiro (4th) helped deliver 21 turkeys to the St. Vincent DePaul food bank. Ben Vasquez (1st) purchased, wrapped and delivered gifts for a family they adopted for the holidays. Way to go shining Eagles.
