SPEAK UP - Educational Technology Survey

SPEAK UP SURVEY FOR LAGUNA
Speak Up Project Tomorrow is a coalition that helps schools determine their technology strengths and needs. It helps the school determine what is important to the community as well as assisting the federal and state governments in understanding how they can schools for technology funding and professional development. Please take 10-15 minutes to complete the survey. Click on this link, go to the appropriate community box and type in the password "laguna" to gain access. This survey is different from the one posted above because it pertains directly to Laguna. There will be several of these survey's coming home this year and we urge you to participate!

STUDY SKILLS HELP
Study skills are learned skills that require practice. Several SPI Specialists have started study skills groups at their schools.
During these groups, students are learning to:
· Identify their learning style
· Set up and organize their study environment
· Learn organizational and time management skills
· Identify and prioritize weekly school work
· Learn how to avoid procrastination and resist distractions
· Strengthen note taking skills by identifying important material

Learn how to make and use outlinesIf you are interested in learning more about the benefits of study skills training or having your child participate in a study skills group at your school, contact the SPI Specialist at your school or the SPI office at 480.443.3100 Ext. 316.
LAGUNA RECEIVES EDUCATIONAL GRANT

Thank you Exxon-Mobil! Everyone knows how outstanding our extracurricular programs are here at Laguna- and they are free to all students! Why? Because businesses like Exxon-Mobil support educational programs through a sponsorship of community grants. This year, the Mobil on the Run at Mountain View and Via Linda has given Laguna a $500 grant! Please stop in and say thank you to the managers- let them know how much we appreciate their support of our children and their education!

LAGUNA'S KIDS CREDIT CAMPAIGN
We need your help to support extracurricular acitivities for our school. Many of the programs at Laguna depend on these tax dollars. This NO COST opportunity helps enrich your child's learning. Envelopes will be sent home with your child the week of November 10th. Thank you for your support!

CODE OF CONDUCT
Please refer to the disctrict's 2008-2009 uniform code of conduct for learning and behavior expectations. Print the signature page for each child attending school. Sign, date and return the form to the school office. click here
